PS5 Home Interface Glitch Resolved: A Return to Normalcy Amid New Features and Console Launches There's no need to be alarmed! The recent unsettling changes to the PS5 home interface were merely a glitch. If you turned on your PlayStation 5 in over the last several days, you may have come across something quite distressing. I’m referring to the large, unattractive promotional visuals that overtook each game icon when you hovered over them on the home screen. Some individuals speculated that the disturbance, which seemed to have replaced the standard background art with images linked to the latest news for your games, was a deliberate move to promote certain content ahead of the PS5 Pro release. However, it was ultimately revealed to be an error. A recent communication from the official Ask PlayStation X / Twitter account clarified that no modifications have been made to the presentation of game news on PS5. The message also explained that the issue stemmed from a technical glitch related to the Official News feature on the PS5 system, which has now been resolved. I just started my PS5 to confirm this, and everything indeed appears to be returning to its original state. This is a significant relief since the glitch was quite unpleasing to the eye. Many of the mistakenly displayed images were notably low-resolution or featured difficult-to-read text, disrupting the generally sleek aesthetic of the PS5 user interface. Sony has recently rolled out a substantial PS5 update that allows for customizable home screens, though this functionality has not been introduced yet to all users. It’s possible that this glitch may have been tied to the rollout of this new functionality. In other news, the company has officially unveiled the PS5 Pro. Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro are currently open, but availability seems to be limited. Additionally, the 30th anniversary designs for both the PS5 and PS5 Pro were revealed, along with some exclusive accessories, but they sold out almost instantly when pre-orders began last month.
